SAFETY AND COURTESY RULES

SPEED
Speed should be regulated when in congested areas, and – particularly – near swimmers and divers

WAKE
Please mind your wake unless you are in a very open area, away from boathouses, and away from other boats – particularly near sailboats (under sail) and skiffs

NOISE
Please be respectful in congested areas (Town docks, marinas) and – particularly – at night. Noise “travels” over the water.

ENFORCEMENT /REPORTING VIOLATIONS

The New York State Police and New York State Park Police patrol regularly, and are responsible for enforcement of all New York State Laws and Regulations.

The US Coast Guard is primarily responsible for Search and Rescue and Federal Regulations, such as oil spills and shipping issues, but will intercede for reckless operation.
